Forest and Dot works with a range of organisations on a variety of community projects from Memory cafes for Dementia, Craft workshops for metal health to Touch to see project for Berkshire vision.
I have made great contacts with my venues which has enabled me to work on new and exciting projects which have helped broaden my skills and experience as a teacher. I actively work with the Corn Exchange in Newbury. I have been working on their ageing creativity program which works with elderly and vulnerable students to help connect them with craft. I have also planned and delivered sessions for participants with limited vision, low dexterity and dementia. I am currently working on a new project of teaching sewing skills to refugees. This has really helped to further my teaching skills as the students have little or no English.
I have experience working with small groups on a 121 basis to bigger groups of up to 30 people. I offer textile based workshops from sewing, knitting, fibre crafts, natural dyeing, crochet and more.
Community work is an important element to Forest and Dot with our mission to get more people involved in heritage skills and crafts to help the wellbeing.
If you have a community project or organisation and would like to work with me please get in contact.
